Floral bath is the nub of the
"tropical spa" experience. You won't believe your eyes when a
full bucket of blooms is tossed into the water purely for your
pleasure. It is a sensational moment when the velvety petals tickle
our naked skin and body for relaxation. Flowers are carefully
chosen, flowers such as jasmine, gardenia, tropical magnolia,
hibiscus, frangipani, bougainvillea, rose and ylang-ylang are chosen for their
rich color and fragrance.

Asian believe flowers are the tangible
link to the forces of the spiritual world, representing a symbolic
purge of our earthly impurities. In Asian spas, the FLORAL BATH is
not usually offered as a treatment on its own. It is often used as
the finale to one of the many other tropical treatments.
It becomes an opportunity to savor the cleansing experience and
relax for a further 30 minutes or so.
Floral oil is good for
normal to dry skin, and it is easy and takes about 10 minutes to
prepare. Below are the method to make the oil.
A good choice of base
oil is Jojoba oil as it does not need to be refrigerated and does
not go rancid. Grape seed oil also makes a great base for massage
oil because it is very light and leaves the skin soft, not greasy
Ingredients
1/2 cup jojoba oil
1/4 teaspoon essential oil of rose
1/4 teaspoon essential oil of lavender
1/2 teaspoon essential oil of geranium
1/4 teaspoon essential oil of ylang-ylang
Mix together the essential oil, store in a
tightly sealed bottle and store in a dark place. Add 2 to 3
teaspoons oil to bath. For massage, use 1/2 teaspoon essential oil
to 1/2 cup jojoba oil. |
