The 12 animals correspondence to your birth year, and you should be able to work out which element belongs to by visiting to our Chinese Zodiac, with each animal has an element which influence your nature.

The elements for the 12 animals are :

Water (North) Rat, Ox, Pig
Metal ( West) Dog, Monkey, Rooster
Fire (South) Goat, Horse, Snake
Wood (East) Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon
There is no Earth as it occupies the centre of the compass

If your year element and natural element are the same, the two influences reinforce each other. But if they are different you will need to decide which one is dominant in your character.
