Feng Shui Pa Kua / Pak Kua / Pah Kwa or Bagua

Pa Kua  - Fung Shui Tool - Yin and Yang Symbol

The Pa Kua is a Feng Shui tool. The different combination of the two simple Yin and Yang symbols representing spring/east and autumn/west. The constantly changing interactions of Yin and Yang gave rise to the infinite variety of patterns of life, and this symbolized in further permutations of the Yin and Yang lines. Adding a third line produced the eight three line symbols of the Pa Kua. These eight symbols are known as the "eight trigrams" and are said to have been discovered by Fu Hsi, a legendary emperor of China. The top line of each trigram represents heaven, the bottom earth and the middle line is humankind.

Every trigram governs a direction of the Compass. Every direction is linked to a trigram i.e.. season, moment of the day, element, color as well as a number. The top line of each trigram represents heaven, the bottom earth and the middle line is humankind.

Kua which is determined by the year of birth according to a simple method of calculation explained below

MEN

You just add the last two digits of your year of birth. If the number obtained is composed of two digits, add them again. Then subtract the result from 10.

• If you are born in 1984
• 8+4 = 12
• 1+2 = 3
• 10-3 = 7

Your Kua number is 7

WOMEN

You just add the last two digits of your year of birth. If the number obtained is composed of two digits, add them again. Then add the result to 5.

• If you are born in 1984
• 8+4 = 12
• 1+2 = 3
• 5+3 = 8

Your Kua number is 8

The Kua 5 is not used. The men replace it by the Kua 2 and the women by the Kua 8

Your Kua will help to determine your type of energy and tell you the directions which are favorable to you. There are two groups of people : those from the East Houses and those from the West Houses. People from the same group are more compatible. It's easier for them to choose a home or the position of their bed, because they have the same good or bad directions. You can therefore energize them, using a number of appropriate cures and enhancements. This will stimulate positive ch'i flow and create good feng shui for you.
