ESSENTIAL OILS are highly concentrated, volatile and aromatic. Although the subject of a great deal of research, there is lack of knowledge about how essential oils work in the body to produce their therapeutic effects. It is known that individual essential oil possess antiseptic, antibiotic, sedative, tonic and stimulating properties. It is believe that they act in harmony with the natural defences of the body such as immune system.

The following table is by no means an exhaustive one, but aims to include the most popular ESSENTIAL OIL readily available today. Similarly, whilst therapeutics uses have been suggested, therapists will differ in the choice of oils for particular complains, whereas his partner in the same practice may favour another treatment for the same complaint.
