Receiving the God of Wealth on the coming New Year is an auspicious event. We need to invite him as the God of wealth will not arrive on its own. The God of Wealth will come at the direction, SouthEast and the auspicious time will be between 1am to 2am.

You will start praying in the first day of the New Year and after, which you can invite him to the altar. You will need to offer prayers to him every 1st and 15th of the lunar month. In order to ensure good health, you need to offer prayers to him sincerely and whole heartedly.

Procedure of Receiving the God of Wealth

You will need to place all foods and offering on the altar. Switch on all the lights in your house to brighten up your home. You should also offer joss sticks to other deities that you are praying to at home during the auspicious hour. Upon arrival of the auspicious hour, light up the longevity joss sticks and red candles. Pray to Tian Gong and offer the god with 3 joss sticks. If you do not have a Tian Gong altar, you will then have to pray to the direction of the God of Wealth which is SouthEast. Put 3 joss stick on the altar and then take 9 joss sticks and pray to the direction of the God of Wealth. Say your prayers and invite the God of Wealth to your house.

After all your family members have finished praying, then you start burning the offerings in a pot. Lastly take the offered wine and tea and pour it over the burning incense. With this, you have complete the procedure of receiving the God of Wealth.
